Facebook font generator
Most places on Facebook have no bold or italic button. This gives you one. Type your text, copy the style you want, and paste it into a post, a comment, your intro, or your Page. It runs in your browser, with no sign-up.

Making your Facebook text stand out
A normal Facebook post is a block of plain text. If you want a heading, an emphasised word, or a line that catches the eye in a long feed, you have to bring your own formatting.
Why Facebook needs a workaround
Unlike a document editor, the Facebook post box does not offer bold, italic, or other formatting. The usual solution is to paste in characters from other Unicode alphabets, which look like styled letters but are really just text.
Because they are real characters, they stay put when you post, edit, or share, and they show up the same way for the friends and followers reading them.
Where it works
Posts, comments, Group posts, Messenger, your profile intro, and the description on a Page are all fair game. It is a good fit for an event title, an opening line, a list heading, or a call to action at the end of a post.
Be more careful with names. Facebook asks personal profiles to use the name people know you by, and styled letters can be rejected or flagged. A Page handle also only takes plain characters. Leave those unstyled and use the generator for the text around them.
Use it for emphasis, not whole posts
Facebookโs audience covers every age and a lot of older phones, and screen readers tend to spell out styled characters letter by letter. Keep opening hours, prices, phone numbers, and links in plain text, and use a styled heading or a single bold phrase on top.
A good rule is one styled line per post. Styled text also does not count in Facebook search, so any word you want people to find should appear somewhere in normal letters too.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make text bold in a Facebook post?
Not with a built-in button in most posts and comments. Paste in a bold style from this page and it will show as bold to everyone who sees the post.
Will it work in comments and Messenger?
Yes. Styled text is ordinary text, so it works in comments, Group posts, and Messenger chats.
Can I change my Facebook name to a fancy font?
We would not. Facebookโs name rules for personal profiles ask for the name you actually use, and styled characters can be turned down or cause a review. Style your intro or posts instead.
How long can my profile intro be?
101 characters. The counter above shows how close you are as you type. Check the preview in the app, because some styles take more room than plain letters.
Does it work on a Facebook Page?
It works in a Pageโs description, posts, and comments. Your Page name and username should stay plain so people can find and tag you.
Why do some letters appear as boxes?
The device showing them is missing a font for that style. Older phones and rarer styles are the usual cause. Bold and italic are safest.
Can friends with screen readers read it?
Not reliably. Screen readers can read styled characters one at a time or skip them. Keep anything important in plain text.
Do I need an account, and is my text stored?
No account is needed. The text is converted in your browser and is not sent to a server.
